OLD-FASHIONED PANCAKES

OLD-FASHIONED PANCAKES

🌟 INGREDIENTS

- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 and 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: additional butter or oil for greasing the pan

🌟 INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until well incorporated.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tough pancakes.
  4. Let the batter rest for about 5 minutes to allow the baking powder to activate and the mixture to slightly thicken.
  5. Preheat a non-stick griddle or a large skillet over medium heat. If desired, lightly grease the cooking surface with butter or oil.
  6. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, and the edges appear set, usually about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Flip the pancake with a spatula and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown on the other side.
  8. Remove the cooked pancakes from the griddle and keep them warm while repeating the process with the remaining batter.
  9. Serve the pancakes warm with your choice of toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or chocolate chips.
Enjoy your homemade old-fashioned pancakes! They are perfect for a leisurely breakfast or brunch.
